Reading Passage
A camera is a tool that saves a moment as a picture. Cameras can be large, small, or inside a phone. They all need light to work.
When you take a photo, light comes from the scene in front of you. The light may come from the Sun, a lamp, or another source. This light bounces off people and objects, then enters the camera.
Inside the camera, the light passes through a lens. The lens bends the light and helps bring it together. This makes the picture clearer.
A camera must focus the light. If the focus is wrong, the photo may look blurry. If the focus is right, the main subject looks sharp.
In a digital camera, the light reaches a sensor. The sensor changes the light into electronic information. The camera then uses this information to make an image.
Old film cameras worked in a different way. They used film that changed when light touched it. Today, many cameras use digital sensors instead of film.
A phone camera works in the same basic way. It uses a tiny lens, a small sensor, and computer tools to make a photo.
A camera works by collecting light, focusing it, and recording it. That is how a short moment becomes a picture we can keep.
