Bees are small insects, but they have a very important job in nature. They help many plants grow by moving pollen from one flower to another. This process is called pollination.

Pollination helps flowers make seeds. It also helps many plants grow fruit. Apples, blueberries, cucumbers, pumpkins, and many other foods can grow better when bees visit their flowers. Without bees and other pollinators, some foods would be harder to grow.

Bees visit flowers because they are looking for nectar. They use nectar to make honey. While a bee moves from flower to flower, pollen sticks to its body. Then the bee carries the pollen to the next flower. The bee is looking for food, but it is also helping the plant.

Many bees live in a colony. Each bee has a job. The queen bee lays eggs. Worker bees collect food, care for young bees, and protect the hive. Some worker bees also tell other bees where to find good flowers.

Bees are important for gardens, farms, and wild places. They help plants grow, and those plants feed animals and people. Bees also support healthy ecosystems because many living things depend on plants.

Today, some bees are in danger. Loss of flowers, pollution, and pesticides can harm them. People can help bees by planting flowers, protecting wild spaces, and using fewer harmful chemicals.
